FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What should I expect at a workshop?
In our workshops you’ll experience the joy of connection, the power of stories, and the comfort of being welcomed just as you are. We’ll read short pieces of literature together — poems, stories, a passage — and respond to a simple prompt in writing. There’s no right or wrong. No performance. Just you, showing up exactly as you are.
By sharing openly and listening with compassion, we create a safe space for personal growth and deeper understanding. You’ll leave with a greater sense of clarity, empathy, and connection—both to yourself and others.
When do workshops take place?
Workshops take place the first and third Thursday of the month via Zoom.
Do I have to attend both monthly workshops?
No, there is no obligation. You’re welcome to attend as many as you wish. Each workshop has a particular theme that speaks to our community of parents, so any and all are valuable.
Here are just a few examples of the themes we explore during our time together: identity, forgiveness, expectations, difference, and hope.
Attending a workshop is “your time” to pause, reflect, and connect. It is not another obligation. Do what works for you!
How long do workshops last?
Each workshop is 60 minutes long form 6:30pm to 7:30pm EST
Do I need to have any writing experience?
Not at all. You don’t need to be a writer to show up. All you need is a willingness to be present. We write together in a safe and supportive space where there is no right or wrong — just your honest words, whatever they may be. Beginners are not just welcome, they are exactly who this is for!
How do I prepare for a workshop?
It’s easy. Find a quiet, comfortable spot where you can relax. Grab a pen and paper too so you’re all set to write. When it’s almost time to start, simply click the Zoom link I’ve sent you and enter the passcode to join our workshop.
